Minsk, 1st. Jul.- The delegation headed by the Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba, Army Corps General Álvaro López Miera, concluded today a successful visit to Belarus, informed the Cuban ambassador in Minsk, Santiago Pérez.
According to what Pérez told Prensa Latina, the also Hero of the Republic of Cuba and member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba, held a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart, Víctor Jrenin, where they discussed current international issues and bilateral relations.
Likewise, and as part of the visit to the Slavic nation, which took place from June 29 to July 1, the Cuban delegation was at the Museum of the Great Patriotic War and at the Khatim memorial complex, where they ratified the admiration of the Cuban people for the heroic resistance of the Belarusian nation.
López Miera highlighted at different times during his visit the good state of relations between the two peoples and governments, as well as the level reached in the ties between the highest leaderships of Cuba and Belarus, and signified the role of the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, in front of the Slavic country.
The Cuban minister's delegation arrived in Minsk from Russia, where he also paid a visit and held meetings with his Russian counterpart. (Text and photo: PL)
