Havana, 22 Feb.- Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of the People’s Power of Cuba, held a meeting with William Ruto, head of state of that East African country.
This is reported today by the Foreign Ministry of Cuba, in a message on the social network X (formerly Twitter) where emphasizes that the priority mission is the cooperation of Kenya and obtain information about the Cuban doctors Assel Herrera Correa and Landy Rodríguez Hernández, kidnapped there on April 12, 2019.

Lazo traveled to Kenya as Cuba's High Level Special Envoy, following recent news published about the possible unconfirmed death of the doctors due to a military operation with drones in the town of Dilib (Somalia).
Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, assured this Wednesday that the island's Government's top priority is to know the current situation of the two doctors.
“We will not rest until we achieve it. “We share the deep pain of his family and the entire people,” the president added in his publication on X.

In a statement, the Cuban Foreign Ministry announced this Tuesday that Lazo, as High Level Space Envoy, will carry out urgent negotiations with the highest authorities of Kenya, in the search for cooperation and clarification on what happened to Herrera Correa and Rodríguez Hernández, who remained kidnapped in the bombing zone.
