Camagüey, February 22.- The member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba and vice president of the Republic, Salvador Valdés Mesa, evaluated in Camagüey the process of operation and improvement of the new organizational structures in the municipal and provincial administrations of the People’s Power and the progress of hiring in the agricultural sector.
Regarding the first of the issues discussed, the vice president called for taking into account the characteristics of each territory to advance further in the implementation of said structures, and considered it essential to cover the positions not only quantitatively, but also taking into account the profiles, the knowledge and preparation.

With the presence of Federico Hernández Hernández, member of the Central Committee and first secretary in the province; Governor Jorge Enrique Sutil Sarabia; coordinators of Programs and Objectives of the Provincial Government of People's Power and directors at that same level; Valdés Mesa recommended considering the load and capacity in each position, to gain rationality and efficiency.
He also reflected on the decisive role of each of the directorates, in priorities for the country such as territorial development, identification and attention to people in vulnerable situations, foreign investment projects and exports, social communication and active role of global bodies of the economy; at the same time that he inquired about the completion of the templates and professional skills.
Subsequently, the Cuban Vice President examined the progress of the contracting of agricultural production and emphasized that this covers all landowners, in order to achieve greater order and control so that crops or food items arrive at their destinations according to what was duly agreed upon and thus contribute to greater dedication to social consumption in various institutions and for marketing to the people.
The leader explained that the purpose is, also, to contribute to the decrease in prices that affect the worker's pocket so much today, and to confront violations, indiscipline and diversions of resources.
He learned about the real possibilities of the province to fulfill the cold sowing campaign, although such a result is far from satisfying the demand, but it denotes a spirit of work, and urged to further exploit the productive potential of the demarcations to advance in the desired self-sufficiency and sovereignty.
In his exchange in Camagüey, Salvador Valdés Mesa, vice president of the Republic, when evaluating prioritized issues that contribute to better performance of the local administrations of the People's Power and superior results in food production, referred to essential concepts such as compliance with the functions institutions and the achievement of municipal autonomy.
