Basic-supply rationing rice for central eastern Cuban provinces unloaded in Nuevitas

Nuevitas, February 22.- The rice from the basic-supply rationing destined for the provinces of Las Tunas, Camagüey and Ciego de Ávila has been in the port of Nuevitas since this Thursday morning.

Mario Martínez Mora, director of the Port's Base Business Unit, explained that grain from Vietnam is unloaded, organized in two work shifts that cover 24 hours a day to achieve effectiveness.

In this sense, Arquímedes Álvarez Pérez, main specialist of the Internal Trade Assurance Company (ASEGEM) in the municipality, commented that the province of Las Tunas will receive more than three thousand tons of rice, Ciego de Ávila two thousand 500 and Camagüey exceeds the four thousand tons of food.

With the support of the three provinces, the transportation of the product is guaranteed and various entities intervene.

For eight days, if weather conditions remain favorable, the stevedores at the port of Nuevitas plan to complete the unloading for prompt marketing to consumers. (Text: Radio Nuevitas) (Photos: Radio Nuevitas and Telecentro Nuevavisión)
