Camagüey, February 26.- Workers in the communications sector in Camagüey today received the Mario Muñoz Monroy Distinction for their contribution to the development of computerization of society and as part of the day of the Communications, Information and Electronics Worker's Day.
The medal was awarded to nine members of the Territorial Division of the Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) and one from the Postal Company, who have accumulated 20 and 25 years of uninterrupted work to ensure telecommunications and expressed their commitment to move forward.
Ángel Luis Tamayo Navia, specialist C in Telematics of the Telephone Center of the Territorial Division of ETECSA and one of those honored, expressed his gratitude for the encouragement and commented on the challenge of providing better services every day and overcoming obstacles with determination and dedication.
During the event in the Nicolás Guillén Batista protocol room in the Plaza de la Revolución Mayor General Ignacio Agramonte, the Minister of Communications Mayra Arevich Marín conveyed congratulations to the honorees and their families for being protagonists of the current times that demand greater delivery to continue moving forward.
Also participating in the awards ceremony were Yudí Mercedes Rodríguez Hernández, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and head of its Department of Attention to Services; Erlín Rondón Cedeño, general secretary of the National Committee of the Communications, Information Technology and Electronics Workers Union; as well as political and government authorities of the province and directors of entities in the sector.
