Internationalization’s impacts the strengths of the Camagüey University


Camagüey, March 1.- Multiple and with impact on the quality of higher education and the development of society and the University of Camagüey (UC) Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz were the results that were presented in the Internationalization Balance of this high school studios, based at the Santa Cecilia Convention Center

During the meeting, Dr.C. Yailé Caballero Mota highlighted that in 2023 the UC achieved the signing of 36 Framework Agreements and Specific Agreements with institutions from various countries, 88 specialists from 13 nations arrived at the center and more than 300 foreign delegates participated in the III Convention Scientific and Technological International of this house of higher education.

Since the internationalization process we have also developed 181 academic and student mobility actions, including scholarships, research stays and participation in scientific events, we belong to 23 academic networks and 6 Associations. International and we have 15 international undergraduate students and 32 postgraduate students, said Caballero Mota.

In 2023, the University of Camagüey also worked on 12 International Projects, most of which greatly contributed to local development directly and to the strategic sectors of Cuba. In addition, he highlighted the participation in the Rectors' Forums of Belarus and Russia; as well as the inauguration of the International Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, in China.

For his part, the rector of the UC, Dr.C. Santiago Lajes Choy praised the work carried out by the International Relations Department and highlighted that this is a process that presents many strengths and results each year, which allow us to notice the growth and maturity of the institution and that area of ??the university.

In the Balance, the Awards for Excellence in Internationalization were presented, the results of areas, projects, faculties and professors who opted for that award were presented; while Dr.C. Yanela Rodríguez Alvarez presented the two countries to which this year the Internationalization Fair is dedicated; Colombia and France.

Likewise, the specialist announced the main actions that the International Relations Department will carry out during that Fair in 2024, which will involve joint work with different areas and faculties of the center.

Likewise, doctors Yailé Caballero Mota and María Isabel Bardina presented two projects that begin this year with universities in France, Cuba-IES Internationalización, from the Solidarity fund for Innovative Projects and Franco-Cuban study days.

For this year, internationalization at the UC has as its priorities achieving double degree and joint degree programs, perfecting scientific policy from innovation programs, consolidating the University-Business-Local Development link and increasing the visibility of the institution and the international projects, as the main source of income.
