Camagüey, March 2.- Camagüey’s Cándido González Sugarcane Company, the only one of its kind in the AzCuba Sugar Business Group, and in the entire country, implements short-term actions to leave behind the economic losses it has suffered since its constitution in 2021 .
Rolando Castro Reyes, director of the entity, explained that this goal will be achieved next April as planned, and the greatest income for this will be from the cutting of 2,300 tons of grass in state areas, thus which benefits the Battle of Las Guásimas power plant.
Other tasks that will pay dividends are the provision of collection services, mechanized cutting and soil preparation to production units, the source specified in a recent exchange with the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic Miguel Díaz. -Canel Bermúdez .
Likewise, it is planned to put into operation the local development project of the Santa Martha mini-industry for the processing of agricultural products that will allow the production of pulp, pieces, juices, wines and panela; while in the community of Haiti the goods production area is already beginning to give results with acceptance in the market, especially from the carpentry workshop, recovered after 20 years without being used.
The export of three containers of charcoal also appears in the recovery program; while the projections to make the company's existence sustainable are included the production of state sugarcane in the San Antonio lot, with irrigation possibilities from the Najasa II dam, in addition to the diversification and increase of productions in the La Granjita agricultural farm.
Gradually, the sugarcane entity has been reducing its economic losses, and for the current harvest it must deliver around 50 thousand tons of raw material to the Batalla de las Guásimas mill in Vertiento; while they overcomplete the cold planting campaign for various crops and the delivery of milk.
The Company, located in the municipality of Santa Cruz del Sur, has eleven production units, a seed bank and a state lot for the cultivation of grass, the latter essential item and which with the available land fund can reach 447 thousand tons for future campaigns.
