Young people from Camagüey defend the cause of the Palestinian people in Sochi (+ Post)

Sochi, March 4.- The Camagüey delegation to the World Youth Festival, in this Russian city, raised its voice this Monday in defense of the Palestinian cause from the country hosting the event, in pursuit of peace, justice and respect to that massacred town.

The 147 Cuban delegates, led by the member of the Central Committee of the Party, the Council of State and first secretary of the Union of Young Communists of Cuba, Aylín Álvarez García, asked for freedom and peace for Palestine and an end to the genocide that has ended the lives of thousands of children, adolescents and young people.

Ricardo Rodríguez González, from Camagüey, president of the University Student Federation, emphasized the tradition of fighting for just causes of our people, the Marti essence that underlies them and the importance of young people's concern for the world we build.

“May injustice not be indifferent to me... may war not be indifferent to me,” chanted the voices along with the singer Annie Garcés, part of the delegation that these days is asserting the truth of Cuba in a meeting setting for several of the progressive youth of the world.

Young people from Camagüey also participate in panels and cultural exchanges such as the one recently produced with the Russian region of Yaroslavl and have spoken out against other international injustices such as the imposition of unilateral sanctions and the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba.

The WYF 2024 World Youth Festival has the participation of 20 thousand young people from more than 180 countries, gathered in the Russian Federation for the convergence of aspirations for a multipolar, multicentric world and the union of the new generations in building the future.
