Camagüey's potential to generate exportable goods and services


Camagüey, March 15.- The potential of the Fairgrounds of the city of Camagüey to promote products of goods and services for export were recognized by the general director of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Vivian Herrera Cid.

During the tour carried out in the context of the XXIV Business Meeting EXPOCAM 2024, the official was interested in several proposals, among them the work links of the Mipyme Renova with the socialist state company, while she learned about the agreements that are being outlined with the Provincial Tourism Company of Ciudad Santa María to promote renewable energy.

Herrera Cid also shared with Jorge Andrés La Cruz, representative of the San Miguel del Caribe industry, from the Dominican Republic, an entity that exports non-alcoholic beverages, and which participates for the second time in events of this type in the largest of the Antilles. and for the first time in Camagüey.

She also appreciated the opportunity to market soft drinks, juices, natural and sparkling water in the central region and assured that the space is ideal for establishing commercial links between national and foreign businessmen.

Miguel Ricardo Santiago Sanz, chef by profession and partner of the medium-sized company Chef Migue -dedicated to the preparation of pasta, the processing of fish, fruits and formed meat products-, mentioned that each edition of EXPOCAM establishes itself as a catalyst for how much can be done to substitute imports and increase returns for the external and internal markets, and foreign investment.

The above was also confirmed with the presentation at the Fairgrounds of the China-Latin America Industrial Park Project, PICLA, for the development of key sectors and the interconnection between various regions of the world.

The latter is an initiative that is promoted by the Asian giant to stimulate industrial development in Cuba and electronic commerce, as explained by Vice Governor Yennys León Mayedo, who accompanied the personalities invited to the important trade fair.
