Cuba: The United States responds with deception to reject complicity with Israel

Havana, 23 Apr. - The government of President Joe Biden responds with deception and repression to the growing rejection in American universities of complicity with the genocide of Israel against the Palestinian people, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said today.

This was stated by the head of the Cuban diplomacy in the social network X, platform in which he published images of propalestin marches in high-school houses in the northern nation.

The day before, US police arrested protesters who set up a camp in support of the Palestinian cause at Yale University, Connecticut.

Participants camped for the third night in an effort to urge Yale not to invest in military weapons manufacturers, reported the student newspaper Yale Daily News.

An estimated 47 protesters were transported to a Yale police facility, where they were prosecuted for breaking and entering, a misdemeanor, and then released, the New Haven Mayor’s Office said.

Meanwhile, Columbia University suspended face-to-face classes on Monday, and the sixth day of protests against Israel’s war in the Gaza Strip began.

Last week, that high school house was the scene of the arrest of at least 108 students who set up a camp in solidarity with Gaza.

Tufts University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Emerson University in the Boston area also had protest camps over the weekend. (Text and photo: PL)
