On the first day of the event, Professor Cala gave lectures and pre-surgical practices, and at the same time the four boys and five girls who will benefit from this treatment were evaluated during the meeting.

Dr. Mauro Castelló Gonzáles, a second-degree specialist in pediatric surgery with vast professional experience, explains that since they had never used this method, they saw the importance of benefiting from Dr. Cala for an academic and healthcare approach that at the same time will solve a problem. health in children of the province. This type of minimal access technique for inguinal hernia is applicable only in infants, said Castelló Gonzáles, and assures that this condition represents the most frequent cause of elective surgery in children, being the one most frequently performed on a scheduled basis.

Dr. Castelló asserted that although some hospitals in the country practice this surgery, it is not systematic and that in an institution where they have the equipment, training and personnel, offering this type of surgical intervention increases the quality of services, which It does not mean that open correction is not a possibility because it is equally effective, but laparoscopic surgery has certain advantages over conventional surgery.
