Cultural summer in Camagüey

Camagüey, July 10 - The Provincial Council of Performing Arts offers several attractive proposals for lovers of dance, theater and humor this summer 2024.

The Areíto circus premieres its show Aplausos at the Teatro Principal. The first performances this weekend had great support from an audience eager for juggling and acrobatics that, although they are presented throughout the year, for some time now they have always reserved surprises for the summer season.

Next weekend, from Friday 12 to Sunday 14, and that day with a double performance at 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., circus art lovers will continue to enjoy themselves.

The premiere of the play La niña y el el elefante for the enjoyment of the little children next Saturday, July 13, is the stage proposal of the Teatro Guiñol directed by Jesús Vidal Rueda Infante. The show will be on stage on July 19, 20, 26 and 27 at 5:00 p.m. and on July 14, 21 and 28 in the morning.

A concert program will be presented by the Camagüey Ballet under the baton of Regina María Balaguer Sánchez, on July 19 and 20 at 8:30 p.m. and on Sunday, July 2, at 5:30 p.m. at the Teatro Principal.

This institution will also tour several municipalities of the province.

Special guest will be the Havana-based group Teatro del Arca at the Avellaneda Theater on July 26, 27 and 28 at 7:00 p.m., while on August 9, 10 and 11, the same venue will host the presentation of the company Teatro Cubano de la Magia.

The day of humor will be extended from August 16 to 18 with the presentation of several groups of the country belonging to the Centro Promotor del Humor, from the Coliseo on Padre Valencia Street and the Avellaneda Theater.

The Camagüey Folkloric Ballet will not be absent from the summer program and will conquer the stage of the Teatro Principal on Wednesday August 3 and Thursday August 4 at 8:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., respectively, led by maestro Reinaldo Echemendía Estrada.

Completing the schedule is the return of the popular Circo Areíto with a circus variety show on August 23, 24 and 30 at 8:30 p.m., as well as on Saturday 25 and Sunday 31 at 5:00 p.m. (Text and photo: online newspaper Adelante).
