Nicolás Maduro evokes the Venezuela-Cuba Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement


Caracas, Nov 30.- President Nicolás Maduro highlighted today that Cuba and Venezuela have the world record of solidarity, cooperation and true brotherhood, thanks to the Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement signed 24 years ago by commanders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez.

The dignitary recalled on his Telegram social network that a day like today took place with the first flight of Venezuelans to be treated in the Antillean nation.

“Thousands of people have benefited and been cared for with the greatest love, humanism and professionalism within the framework of the Comprehensive Health Agreement, which shows that yes it is possible, despite imperial aggression, to guarantee the right to life now. the quality health of our people,” he stated.

The head of the Bolivarian State assured that “we will remain united in a single flag, a single battle and a single spirit.”

“I have been very, very moved by seeing the patients,” expressed the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution in an audiovisual that accompanies the message, which recalled that more than 66,000 Venezuelan patients were treated in Cuban lands.

Maduro pointed out that this Agreement was going to change the history of social cooperation in the world.

The President stated that with “the Cuba-Venezuela Agreement we will continue in the great task of reconstructing and fully restoring the right to health of our people throughout our territory.”

Cooperation projects between Caracas and Havana amounted to 1,487 until October 2021, while 255,300 Cuban collaborators provided their services in Venezuela.

The Venezuelan population received the benefit of 1 billion 296 million 915 thousand 510 medical consultations and the lives of more than 1 million 490 thousand people were saved, thanks to the care provided by Cuban doctors, according to official data.

As part of this Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement, more than one million 500 thousand illiterate Venezuelans learned to read and write with the implementation of programs such as Mission Robinson, arising from the close collaboration between the two countries, and through the “Yes I can” method.
