Ecuador, Jan 7.- I remember that a year and a half ago, former president Rafael Correa gave all his support to the current president of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, in the face of the possibility of a coup d'état that was being forged by growing organized crime in order to prevent any obstacle to the lucrative business of drug trafficking and other scams that the apathy of the neoliberal authorities cannot stop.
At that time, Correa, a renowned political leader, offered full support to President Noboa, urging him not to give in to adversity:
“President Daniel Noboa, have our full support. Please don't give in and make any mistakes. We will discuss our political differences the day after the victory. “The country will win again!”
Not only did Noboa not appreciate the support of the president who developed Ecuador for the better with his ten years of Citizen Revolution, but he also grossly lied by attributing such crime to the years of Correismo governance.
Now the situation is repeated, but in reverse: Correa warned that Noboa, by refusing to take leave during the electoral campaign, is preparing a self-coup in order to avoid a possible defeat in the upcoming presidential elections, something that two months ago the Vice President Verónica Abad, unconstitutionally replaced by the arch-millionaire in power.
“Lies and traps have destroyed the country,” said Correa, quoted by the media Fusar News, when referring to Daniel Noboa's action of not complying with the provisions of the Constitution of Ecuador, which would lead to an eventual coup. State.
Correa also referred to a statement from the National Democratic Action movement (ADN, center-right), which justified the position of the current head of state.
The ADN publication states that, according to article 93 of the Code of Democracy, only officials seeking immediate re-election will take leave. Likewise, he mentions that, by becoming president, after early elections, it would not be a re-election.
It should be noted that this situation generated an intense legal and political debate in the South American country, in which jurists warned about the possibility of a political trial against Noboa, if he persists in his refusal.
As for the National Electoral Council (CNE), it made a statement against a request for the organization to clarify the situation, which causes uncertainty in the electoral process.
SON… OF THE COUP
It must also be remembered that Noboa himself emerged from a disguised coup orchestrated by the also millionaire Guillermo Lasso, giving life to what they call "crossed death", thus renouncing the first magistracy and avoiding the impeachment trial that was approaching him for his bad actions. political and economic management.
"Cross death" is considered an emergency measure that consists of the early termination of the term of office of the heads of the executive and legislative powers. This is how the head of state has the power to dissolve the Assembly in the event of a “serious political crisis” and “internal commotion” in Ecuador, with a subsequent call for elections.
All this in the midst of the control of crime in a part of the country, with abuses of all kinds by the so-called law enforcement forces, or made up of largely unscrupulous individuals who are accomplices of drug traffickers and repress social protest demonstrations.
The abuse has been such that it recently led to the kidnapping and murder by members of the air force of four minors who were playing soccer, whose bodies were burned and buried near a military base.
DISMANTLING OF THE STATE
The crisis that Ecuador is experiencing is the product of what different governments have sown for years and the dismantling of the State, aggravated today by an unprepared leader and supported by an extremely rich oligarchy in which his family has the top position.
The group that claims to govern now receives the result of years of destruction, of political persecution, where the common good of administering the State was forgotten.
Today Ecuador is in a virtual state of war with violent actions carried out by organized crime gangs that led a president who wants to stay in power at all costs to declare internal armed conflict. (Text and Photo: Cubasí)
