Moscow, Jan 25. - The president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, today classified as unlikely that his United States counterpart, Donald Trump, will impose new sanctions, which could have a negative impact on the North American economy.
Even if we hear about the possibility of imposing additional sanctions on Russia, I doubt that Trump will make decisions that harm the US economy itself, declared the head of state of the Eurasian giant.
The Russian president specified that his counterpart from the northern nation is a man who is not only intelligent, but pragmatic, therefore it is difficult for me to imagine him making decisions that are harmful to the finances of his country, he reiterated.
On the other hand, Putin affirmed that, if they had not prevented Donald Trump from winning the elections in 2020, the Ukrainian crisis would not exist.
I cannot disagree with him that if he had been president, if he had not been robbed of victory in 2020, perhaps the Ukrainian crisis that arose in 2022 would not have occurred, the dignitary said.
In that sense, he argued that in a general way Moscow could have many points in common with the current leadership of Washington when it comes to finding solutions to the key issues of the moment.
“This includes issues of strategic stability and economic issues. That is why I am willing to meet with Trump to discuss all issues, including the Ukrainian conflict,” he said.
In this regard, Putin criticized how Ukraine receives millions of dollars from its sponsors and is in no hurry to negotiate peace with Moscow.
The current Kyiv regime is happy to receive hundreds of billions from its sponsors, said the Russian president, while also ensuring that the Ukrainian leaders gobble up these millions.
Likewise, the dignitary made reference to the decree promulgated by President Vladimir Zelensky through which he prohibits negotiations with Russia.
Until this decree is annulled, it is quite difficult to talk about these negotiations being able to start and, more importantly, be concluded properly. I think that, in the end, those who pay the money must force Ukraine to do so, Putin stressed.
At the same time, he reiterated that Russia is ready to hold talks with the new administration in the White House. We have always said, and I want to emphasize this once again, that we are ready for these negotiations on the Ukrainian problem, he stressed. (Text and photo: PL)
