Camagüey, Mar 1.- The exercise For a Safer Camagüey, whose main objective was to reduce crimes and illegalities in the Camagüey territory, concluded this Friday after an intense week of joint work with all political and mass structures.
During these seven days, more than 700 control actions were carried out, which allowed the identification of around two thousand illegalities. Among the most notable were abusive prices not regulated within the current legal framework and the sale of products in unlicensed sites.
In addition, control on the streets was intensified, which resulted in a decrease in traffic violations and a reduction in criminal acts such as vandalism, theft and social indiscipline that affect the heritage.
The exercise also allowed the detection of violations in agricultural and livestock production sites, pointing out problems such as the illegal use and ownership of land, as well as delays in the Affidavit Campaign, among others.
Jorge Enrique Sutil Sarabia, governor of Camagüey, stressed the importance of organizing mechanisms that allow the evaluation of the results of the Cold Campaign, in order to identify the territories that do not comply with this scheme that supports food production in the province. He also considered it crucial to verify and evaluate the commercialization of these products.
For his part, Federico Hernández Hernández, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and first secretary in the province, underlined the value of this exercise and emphasized the need to carry out a systematic follow-up of each of the identified points that affect citizen tranquility and violate consumer rights.
Although it is still necessary to intensify actions to eradicate crime and guarantee social peace, it is essential to recognize the relevance of this type of activities, which will be more effective through a systematic approach. (Text and photo: Idaylen Rodríguez Rodríguez/Radio Cadena Agramonte)
