The National Road Safety Commission urges caution as the school year begins

Havana, August 29 - The National Road Safety Commission is advising the public, particularly vehicle drivers, on the measures and precautions to consider due to the upcoming start of the new school year 2025-2026 on Monday, September 1. As is customary, this date mobilizes thousands of students, teachers, workers, and family members as road users.

In this regard, vehicle drivers are urged to exercise caution, maintain proper attention while driving, and moderate their speed, especially near educational institutions and pedestrian crossings.

Parents and guardians responsible for the safety of minors should also be mindful of correctly using sidewalks, crossing roads at designated areas while avoiding distractions, and maintaining appropriate behavior as pedestrians or passengers. They should ensure proper use of helmets and seat belts, refrain from distracting the driver, and pay attention when boarding and disembarking from vehicles.

The National Commission emphasizes the necessity for the entire population to adhere to the measures and guidelines outlined in this notice, advocating for responsible behavior in response to the directions from the authorities who will oversee this important event. (Text and Photo: Cubadebate)
