Trump confirms US aggression against Iran

Moscow, Feb 28. - The United States has launched a large-scale military operation against Iran, declared President Donald Trump, shortly after Israel's announcement of the start of an aggression against the Persian nation.

"Shortly ago, the US military began major combat operations against Iran. Our goal is to defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime," Trump said in a video on his social media. "I will say it again. They will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon," he added.

"The lives of brave American heroes could be lost, and we could have casualties. That often happens in war. But we are not doing this for the present. We are doing it for the future. And it is a noble mission," he stated.

To the Iranian military, Trump said: "So lay down your arms. You will be treated fairly and with total immunity, or you will face certain death." Furthermore, Trump urged the people of Iran to "take control of your Government."

"To the great and proud people of Iran, I tell you tonight that the hour of your freedom is near. Stay safe. Do not leave your homes. It is very dangerous outside. Bombs will fall everywhere. When we are finished, take control of your Government," he pleaded.

"The United States backs you with overwhelming and devastating force," he declared. "Now is the time to take the reins of your destiny. This is the moment to act. Do not let it pass," he concluded.

The attacks follow long-standing threats by the US and Israel to intervene in the Persian nation, insisting that it change its nuclear program. For its part, Iran has always defended its right to develop its program peacefully.

Iran has repeatedly warned that it is prepared to respond with heavy blows to any strategic mistake by the US. Furthermore, it emphasized that a total cessation of uranium enrichment is absolutely unacceptable.

This new aggression against Iran comes just months after the military intervention of June 2025, when Israel launched an unprovoked attack against the Persian country, which led to an exchange of missile and drone offensives between the two nations.

During the so-called 12-Day War, the Hebrew state's targets were the Islamic Republic's nuclear facilities, military commanders and senior officials, as well as nuclear scientists. Several of them were killed along with their families.

The confrontation intensified with the intervention of the US, which bombed three major Iranian nuclear facilities. Trump assured at the time that the Islamic Republic's nuclear program had been shattered, an assessment that was questioned by Washington's own intelligence.

Tehran responded to the American offensive by launching an attack on the largest US military base in the Middle East, located in Qatar. On June 24, Tel Aviv and Tehran announced a ceasefire that ended the hostilities. (RT) (Photo: Takenfrom Internet)
