Iran launches ballistic missiles and drones towards Israel after aggression

Tehran, Feb 28. - Iran's Revolutionary Guard announced today the launch of the first wave of large-scale attacks with ballistic missiles and drones against Israel, in response to the US-Israeli aggression against the Persian nation.

In a statement, the military body reported that the operation constitutes a direct response to the bombardments carried out hours earlier by the United States and Israel against several Iranian provinces.

The Israeli occupation army confirmed having detected a volley of missiles fired from Iran towards its territory, while local media reported explosions in the north and the launch of projectiles towards Tel Aviv.

Warning sirens sounded across wide areas of occupied Palestine, including Haifa, amid a heightened state of tension and reinforced security measures.

For its part, the Iranian agency Nournews confirmed the launch of dozens of ballistic missiles towards Israel, describing it as part of a "forceful" response.

The Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament, Ebrahim Azizi, warned Washington and Tel Aviv about the consequences of the escalation.

"We warned them before, and now they have embarked on a path whose end is no longer in their hands," he declared.

Hours earlier, Iranian television had indicated that the country's response to the aggression would be firm.

The escalation occurs after the United States and Israel launched attacks this Saturday against multiple targets in different Iranian provinces, significantly raising tensions in the Middle East. (Source: Prensa Latina)
