Camagüey, Dec. 2.- A group of Camagüey academics and scientists paid tribute to the work of the most prominent of Cuba's scientists, Carlos J Finlay, with a Prayer that has been held every year since it was established in 1933.
In the solemn session of the Provincial Scientific Council, Dr. Midiela Betancourt Valladares, general vice-rector of the University of Medical Sciences in Camagüey, highlighted the figure of Finlay as a brilliant scholar who discovered the truth among a cluster of false theories and summarized his contributions to Medicine.
She expressed her pride in the progress made during the years affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the altruism of professionals in the sector, despite the difficult scenario that the country faces due to the intensification of the United States government blockade. against the largest of the Antilles.
