Camagüey, February 5.- Bringing together dreams, feelings and the very essence of a project that for 20 years has transformed lives and forged ties between its members, who transgress mere consanguinity to become unions of the soul such as Carsueños, could seem like a impossible, however the documentary Stitches of dreams, from the Camagüebax production company, achieved it.

Carsueños was born in 2003 in the La Belén neighborhood of the city of Camagüey, as a project that brings together men and women without looking at races or physical conditions to create with the art of doll making a world of fantasies intended mainly for children and adults with the soul of children.

The filmmakers were able to capture that essence full of tenderness and a lot of love in a 45-minute audiovisual that narrates the daily life of these creators, materialized in dolls that accompanied the childhood of many children who are now young people.

In its speech, the documentary manages to weave together in the same sense the stories of several members of Carsueños and its director, Carmen Soto González, who from their experiences manage to tell what is not seen with the naked eye, but rather felt: dedication, dedication and love in every doll.

Lizneydi Martí Cordero, director of the Camagüebax Audiovisual Production Company, explained that this is part of a cycle of documentaries that has been dedicated to different groups and distinctive projects from Camagüey in coordination with the Municipal Directorate of Culture.

For her part, the director Liany Hernández Toirse, who is co-director of Puntadas de Sueños, considered that this is a well-deserved tribute to an initiative that remains in the historical memory of the people of Camagüey and is even younger at 20 years old.

“We wanted to reflect what their lines of work have been during those years and how those lines have also marked their life projects,” she noted.

Lázaro Torres Hernández, who shares the direction of this audiovisual and is also its scriptwriter, explained that the documentary has a simple structure divided into blocks and with four main interviewees.

As it was his first work as a director, the young journalist recognizes that it was a challenge and a commitment to tell the story of this important initiative for Camagüey and its people.

Likewise, Yevgenis Peña Montenegro, municipal director of Culture, expressed that the idea arose from the need to tell in a different way the history and work of artistic projects in the Camagüey territory and its protagonists, while announcing that other documentaries are expected from groups such as Beautiful Patuá, among other characteristics of Camagüey.
