Camagüey, January 11.- One deceased (unidentified so far) and 61 injured is the preliminary balance of a massive accident recorded after seven o'clock at night this Friday, January 10, on the northern beltway of the city of Camagüey, at Two buses coming from the eastern provinces collided. Dr. Rodolfo Emilio Domínguez Rosabal, director of the Manuel Ascunce Domenech University Hospital, reported that the healthcare institution is treating 54 adults, of which five are in critical condition with danger to life, three have undergone surgery for severe closed abdominal trauma, and even at the time of writing the information, they are recovering from anesthesia for transfer to the corresponding care room, the rest are under constant observation for possible complications.
The specialist explained that they have the necessary resources and a team of professionals for care, as in the Eduardo Agramonte Piña Pediatric Hospital, which houses seven infants, all of them without danger to life, of them two in the intermediate room and five in surgery.
The Governor of Camagüey, Jorge Enrique Sutil Sarabia, added that it is important to activate the information protocols for family members, and explained that they contacted the authorities of the province of Granma for their transfer, who will receive the necessary attention.
Likewise, the protection of the property of the injured and the safe return to their homes of travelers who were not damaged are guaranteed thanks to the effective and rapid work of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the bodies of the Ministry of the Interior.
