From September 12th to 17th in 1973, the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro visited some areas in Vietnam, recently released in that moment, and he was the only foreign statesman who did it. In order to celebrate the 45th anniversary of this event, we evoke the Cuban leader’s tour through these snapshots.
Every weekend, from the capital city of Camagüey, and from the other municipalities, and even from other provinces, arrived to Santa Lucía Beach, hundreds of kilometers to the north of the city, thousands of vacationers drawn by the natural beauty of the environment.
"If we want to express how we aspire as our revolutionary combatants, our militants, our men, we must say without hesitation of any kind: to be like Che!" If we want to express how we are the men of the future generations, we must say: to be like Che! If we want to tell how we wish that they will educate our children, we must say without hesitation: we want that they are educated in the spirit of Che!
After a year of waiting, theCamagüey´s San Juan is here again. For some days the peal of the drums cheers the nights as announcement up to what it will be this new edition of one of the local traditions of major popular rooting, and that as such, from 12 a.m. of June 24 it brings occupied to the born in this soft region of shepherds and hats.
The Viñales Valley, paradisiacal charm, has emerged as a privileged site for the natural enjoyment, which may put at risk the safeguarding of its landscape and ornamental exclusivity.

Even with the feelings aroused by the Major General Ignacio Agramonte, our and in all of Cuba, on the 145 anniversary of his physical departure, the story transports us to a site revered by the locals: The Museum Fifth Simoni, in the vicinity of the Square of Havana, of this city.

Early in the morning, a compact human wave filled the streets of the city, to fill every space of the square Major General Ignacio Agramonte.
Who walk today by the historic center of the city of Camagüey, find in their path more than an art gallery. The traditional rooms of exposure is in addition to the studies-workshop of several artists from the local plastic; some of the most renowned, others less known, and even some fans have opened doors to the creation and show how much local or foreign travels through the convoluted arteries of this peaceful region
To enjoy the culture in Camagüey is a luxury for those who today are passing through or reside permanently in the "region of pastors and hats", as defined in the once Town of Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe the National Poet of Cuba Nicolás Guillén. The reason? The seventh edition of the Festival of the Tinajón, the same as each year proposes a meeting of Camagüey with their culture.
The Prado Museum in Camagüey?, it is heard exclaim incredulous to those who walk today near the Workers Square of this city. But, it is true: reproductions of the most famous paintings of artists of the stature of Goya , El Greco, Caravaggio, Sorolla, Velázquez, Zurbarán, Murillo, Rubens and many others, belonging to the collection of the almost bicentenary Spanish Museum, considered among the most important ones and visited ones of the world, are exhibited from February 2 in the land of tinajones (a large earthenware jar) .
As one of the most attractive and coveted of the Camagüey´s Culture Week is credited the Craft Fair 500 , with representation from creators of all provinces of the country.
Each January 30 is a call for peace and non-violence, a show of support to the pacifism that both reclaim the humanity. Campaigns, programs to combat this scourge in all its manifestations, social movements and other initiatives on a global scale, are the main actions of this day.
